SENTIERO DEI RETI

But who are the Raeti?

Dos Castel, a very ancient village, is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Alps and represents a rare case of settlement on high ground. It is a fortified village, surrounded by protective walls and a cliff. Here were found numerous artefacts, dating back to the Middle Bronze Age and the Second Iron Age: vases, situlae, knives, food residue. The inhabitants of this village were the Raeti.

The path Sentiero dei Reti is immersed in Parco del Respiro, the “Magic Beech” is just a few steps away.
